Fernando Melendez

Founder and CEO

ECT was formed 16 years ago by Fernando Melendez, our CEO. Fernando had the vision to offer “Like-New” pre-owned equipment to the Semiconductor Manufacturing marketplace. ECT initially sold its Re-manufactured Equipment exclusively to in-house Manufacturing Companies, where a very close rapport with Engineers, Technologists, and Procurement groups allowed us to be considered almost a part of the Manufacturing Team. Fernando’s vision is to take our “Like-New” Re-manufacturing approach and offers our unique Systems to the general marketplace.

Fernando Melendez has worked for over 25 years in this industry. Before forming ECT, he has been part of the Repair, Maintenance, and Management Teams at Plasma-Therm, Unaxis, Veeco, and Western Digital.

Dr. Chris Constantine

Senior Partner

Chris joined ECT recently as a Senior Partner, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and equipment know-how to the ECT Team. Like Fernando, Chris also has over 30 years of experience in the Vacuum/Plasma/Spectroscopy technical fields and a long pedigree in Executive management.

Chris Constantine was a Principal Scientist at Plasma-Therm, a Business Unit manager at Unaxis, a General Manager at the Oerlikon Florida manufacturing site, and President of the Oerlikon USA Holding Group. Later, Chris was a Senior Director at Oerlikon Solar Group, reporting directly to the CEO. Chris graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fordham University with a BS in Chemistry, completed a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from CCNY, and an Executive M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He has over 50 Refereed Publications in various aspects of Plasma and Vacuum technology.
